IAVM Foundation

Why We Exist

The IAVM Foundation advances the success, safety, and future of public assembly venues and the communities they serve worldwide.

Established in 1982 in response to recommendations following the 1979 Who concert tragedy, the Foundation has invested more than $3.2 million in professional development, education, research, and industry best practices to strengthen venue management and improve public safety.

Through the generosity of individuals, companies, foundations, and government partners, the IAVM Foundation continues to support innovation, leadership, and the long-term growth of the public assembly venue industry. As a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Foundation Programs:

100+ Women of IAVM

Launched in 2016 by the IAVM Foundation, the 100+ Women of IAVM Campaign funds scholarships for women to attend VenueConnect and AVSS, helping develop the next generation of industry leaders.

The concept is simple: 100+ women and men each contribute $100 (or more), generating $10,000+ annually to provide life-changing professional development opportunities.

Support the future of women in venue management by making a donation today. Every gift helps empower emerging leaders and strengthen our industry.

Donations Benefit:

The IAVM Foundation is key in providing financial support to the association's educational offerings and programs, directly benefiting its members. Through participation in the various programs, members are afforded educational settings in which to learn from experts in the industry, collaborate with others, and collectively seek to become the next generation of leaders in the venue management industry.

I personally benefited from research initiatives and educational offerings the Foundation provides. Without the opportunity to attend programs like Venue Management School and Graduate Institute, I don't think my career would have advanced as it did. I want others to have these same opportunities and give back to an industry that has given so much to me!

Shura Garnett, CVESenior Vice President, Convention Centers, Oak View Group Facilities

The IAVM Foundation provides the young, enthusiastic, and diverse IAVM members of tomorrow avenues to thrive by attending industry events. These networking and educational opportunities have the potential to open doors that can influence the future of any aspiring leader.

The generosity of IAVM members flows through the organization in volunteer hours and financial contributions to the Foundation. We each participate in different ways, at different times in our careers, but always conscious that even when the lift is a heavy one, we still somehow get back more than we give.
