Originally developed from 1989-1993, this is most recent edition (2011) of the IAVM Glossary of Terms. It was developed for the purpose of providing a comprehensive reference of industry terms for both new and experience managers of public assembly facilities. Definitions of terms were written to describe how the terms are actually used in the industry rather than to prescribe usage.
Representing public assembly venues from around the globe, IAVM’s 7,900+ active members include managers and senior executives from auditoriums, arenas, convention centers, exhibit halls, stadiums, performing arts centers, university complexes, amphitheaters and fairgrounds. IAVM’s mission is to educate, advocate for, and inspire public assembly venue professionals worldwide.
