Mission:

The Certification Commission supports IAVM staff in the administration of the Association’s professional certification programs: the Certified Venue Executive (CVE) program and the Certified Venue Professional (CVP) program.

Roles and Responsibilities of Certification Commission Members:

• Collaborate with IAVM staff to administer the processes and implementation of the CVP and CVE programs. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Setting out and reviewing the standards and procedures used to evaluate each candidate’s qualifications for receiving either the CVE or the CVP designation
  • Evaluating each CVE candidate’s written and oral examinations
  • Encouraging and promoting the efficacy and legitimacy of the certification programs to the IAVM membership, to like-minded organizations, to the industry that IAVM serves, and to the public
  • Promoting, reviewing, evaluating, and recommending the educational materials to be used by all candidates in preparation for the examinations that are used by the Certification Board to evaluate an individual’s qualifications for either the CVE or the CVP designation.
  • Ensuring the objective and unbiased assessment of each candidate’s knowledge, skill and abilities
