Membership Types
 
Professional Membership – Professional members are the core members of IAVM. They include managers in all types of public assembly venues including amphitheaters, arenas, auditoriums, convention centers/exhibit halls, performing arts venues, stadiums and university complexes.

The qualification considerations are:
  • Work at or associated with a qualified public assembly venue,
  • Actively involved with the management, administration, or operation of the venue.

Professional Members will have the following privileges:

  1. Provided by the IAVM Bylaws
  2. May attend all Association meetings and conferences
  3. Serve on committees, all international or regional
  4. Have priority for attendance at professional development programs
  5. Full participation in all IAVM activities.

Professional Members:  $445 + $150  Initiation Fee

Benefits include:

  • Numerous Educational and Professional Development Opportunities
  • Networking – Establish relationships with leaders in venue management around the world
  • Online Membership Directory – Gives you access to contact information and it lists all members
  • Facility Manager (six issues a year) and Venue Safety & Security (quarterly)magazines
  • IAVM News – Electronic newsletter distributed twice a month which keeps you up-to-date about IAVM activities and meetings, and the latest industry news
  • Discount on newly revised Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices 2nd Edition Textbook

Allied Membership - Allied members are companies that provide goods and services to the public assembly venue industry.

The qualification considerations are:

  • Not specifically qualified to be a Professional Member
  • Is engaged in the providing of product, equipment, services, or attractions for the public assembly venue industry.

Allied Members will have the following privileges:

  1. May attend all Association conventions, conferences, and seminars
  2. Serve on committees, all international or regional, except as specifically limited in the IAVM Bylaws or this policy manual
  3. General participation in IAVM activities
  4. Have one official, primary representative for the membership
  5. Have more than one individual receive membership benefits, subject to associated dues and fees

Allied Membership:  $590 + $125 Initiation Fee

Benefits include:

  • Direct access to the largest group of decision-makers for public assembly venues
  • Numerous opportunities to build brand awareness through sponsorships and discounts on advertising in industry publications, banner ads and discounted exhibit space for members
  • Buyers Guide listings and Membership Directory feature opportunities
  • Facility Manager (six issues a year) and Venue Safety & Security (quarterly) magazines
  • Networking and social functions that allow you time to build relationships and make life-long customers
  • Opportunities for involvement and volunteer leadership positions exist to help improve the industry as well as your company
  • IAVM News – Electronic newsletter distributed twice a month which keeps you up-to-date about IAVM activities and meetings, and the latest industry news
  • Discount on newly revised Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices 2nd Edition Textbook

Young Professional Membership Requirements:

  • Open to any individual who is 30 years of age or younger.
  • Birth date must be provided to meet membership qualifications.
  • Actively involved in the management of a qualified public assembly venue at a level below the top two levels of management at the venue (e.g. Executive, General
  • Assistant General Manager or Department Head)

Young Professional Members will have the following privileges:

  • Provided by the IAVM Bylaws
  • May attend all Association meetings and conferences
  • Serve on committees, all international or regional
  • Full participation in all IAVM activities
  • Non-voting member

Stipulations: Applicant cannot move from Professional Membership to Young Professional Membership. A Student Member can upgrade to the Young Professional Membership classification as long as the requirements above are met. The same principal applies to other membership categories. IAVM reserves the right to approve or deny category requests.

Annual Young Professional Membership Dues:  $250 U.S.

  • Discount on newly revised Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices 2nd Edition Textbook
  • Membership Guide - Online access to directory gives you contact information for all members
  • Buyers Guide, Venue Locator
  • Facility Manager magazine- Electronic news written by the industry's best and brightest practitioners and experts. For award-winning stories that shape the industry, you will want to read every page

Young Professional Allied Membership Requirements:

  • Open to any individual who is 30 years of age or younger
  • Birth date must be provided to meet membership qualification
  • Not specifically qualified to be a Professional Member
  • Is engaged in the providing of product, equipment, services, or attractions for the public assembly venue industry
  • Allied Rep membership must be active prior to approval

Young Professional Allied Members will have the following privileges:

  • Provided by the IAVM Bylaws
  • May attend all Association meetings and conferences
  • Full participation in all IAVM activities
  • Non-voting member

Stipulations: Applicant cannot move from Allied Rep or Allied Extra Membership to Young Professional Allied Membership. A Student Member can upgrade to the Young Professional Allied Membership classification as long as the requirements above are met. The same principle applies to other membership categories. IAVM reserves the right to approve or deny category request changes. Young Professional Allied Membership may not substitute for primary membership, i.e, Allied Rep membership at any time.

Annual Young Professional Allied Membership Dues:  $250 U.S.

Associate Membership - The IAVM Bylaws established an Associate Membership in IAVM “for individuals engaged in education or professional fields related, to the public assembly management industry.” This type of membership and its categories are open to individuals who desire to have a professional connection to IAVM and the industry and receive a limited range of membership benefits and services.

The categories of Associate Membership are:

Associate-Academic Membership - is open to individuals who are employed as members of faculties of accredited, post-secondary educational institutions, providing instructions and training in disciplines and/or areas associated with the public assembly venue industry.

Associate-Academic Members will have the following privileges:

  • As provided or limited by the IAVM Bylaws
  • May attend all Association meetings and conferences
  • Serve on committees, international or regional
  • Participation in all IAVM activities

Faculty Membership:  $125

Benefits include:

  • Numerous Educational and Professional Development Opportunities
  • Networking – Establish relationships with leaders in venue management around the world
  • Online Membership Directory – Gives you access to contact information and it lists all members
  • Facility Manager (six issues a year) and Venue Safety & Security (quarterly) magazines
  • IAVM News – Electronic newsletter distributed twice a month which keeps you up-to-date about IAVM activities and meetings, and the latest industry news
  • Discount on newly revised Public Assembly Facility Management: Principles and Practices 2nd Edition Textbook

Associate-Student Membership is open to any individual who is enrolled at a university, college, or post-secondary technical school and is actively pursuing a degree in fields associated with, or appropriate to public assembly venue management or operations. If you are employed full-time with a public assembly venue, you are not eligible for student membership.

Associate-Student Associate Members will have the following privileges:

  • As provided or limited by the IAVM Bylaws
  • May attend all Association meetings and conferences
  • Serve on committees, international or regional
  • General participation in all IAVM activities

Student Membership:  $75

Benefits include:

  • Numerous Educational and Professional Development Opportunities
  • Networking – Establish relationships with leaders in venue management around the world
  • Online Membership Directory – Gives you access to contact information and it lists all members
  • Facility Manager (six issues a year) and Venue Safety & Security (quarterly) magazines - electronic news access
  • IAVM News – Electronic newsletter distributed twice a month which keeps you up-to-date about IAVM activities and meetings, and the latest industry news
  • Attend IAVM’s annual conference and trade show at a special student rate
    Special pricing may be available in connection with some district meetings
