The International Association of Venue Managers, Inc. is broken into geographical regions designed to serve the communications needs of its members within certain areas. Each region elects a slate of officers to conduct its activities, including a director to the IAVM Board of Directors who represents the region at all Association business meetings. Individual members are assigned to one of the regions based on address of record within IAVM's database.
The regions engage in a variety of activities. Among the most visible events are annual or chapter meetings to help members network with their friends and peers within the geographical region. Over the past few years, several regions have joined forces to host combined meetings that consolidate resources and strengthen educational programming.
