Venue Excellence Award Overview and Purpose
The Venue Excellence Award was created to annually recognize each of the four IAVM venue types (convention centers, stadiums, arenas and performing arts centers) which demonstrate excellence in the management and operation of public assembly venues. IAVM takes pride in its members and member venues that excel in providing their communities with a safe and enjoyable space for all types of events and educational opportunities.

Timeline
February 1 – May 1: Applications are submitted and collected.

May: Applications are reviewed by venue specific committees. Finalists are determined and prepared for the Board of Directors.

July 23: Award winners are announced at the Venue Industry Awards Luncheon during VenueConnect in Fort. Lauderdale, Florida.

Eligibility
Any public assembly venue (convention centers, stadiums, arenas, performing arts centers), publicly or privately owned and operated, nominated by others or themselves who have demonstrated excellence within the last calendar year and have at least one current employee who is an IAVM member in good standing.

Application Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate how their venue excels in each of the four provided criteria: Operational Excellence, Teambuilding/Professional Development, Safety & Security and Service to the Community.
Each criterion must be described in 350 words.
The four criteria are a framework to help demonstrate the ways in which the applicant has demonstrated excellence in venue management and operations. The venue must satisfy each of the four criteria to be considered for nomination.
All materials must be received, by email, no later than Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Late entries will not be accepted. Completed PDF applications can be submitted to Kayla McKinley at Kayla.McKinley@IAVM.org
All materials must be received by email, postal mail or fax by May 2, 2011. Late entries will not be accepted.
Applications must include one exterior photo of the venue. Photos need to be at least 300 dpi, .jpg format and should have an accompanying photo release form.
Finalists may be asked to submit additional documentation, examples or images.

Venue Education Award Overview and Purpose

The Venue Education Award acknowledges Allied organizations, venues and academic institutions that demonstrate active student involvement, excel in available educational opportunities as well as demonstrate leadership in education. The Award also honors individuals who are actively involved in the education and continuous development of the venue management industry. Self-nominations will be accepted. Please fill out the Venue Education Award application and return to Kayla McKinley via email at Kayla.McKinley@IAVM.org no later than Tuesday, May 1, 2012.
