AVSS Year 1 Prerequisites:

Completion of the following four (4) FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI) courses for National Incident Management System (NIMS). The specific FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI) courses required are:
  • IS-100.b - Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100
  • IS-200.b - ICS for Single Resource and Initial Action Incidents
  • IS-700.a - National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction
  • IS-800.b - National Response Framework, An Introduction
 
These classes may be taken online for free through FEMA’s website. Each course is listed as being approximately 3 hours in length. To access the online courses, please go to: http://training.fema.gov/is/nims.aspx
 
In order to take the exam for each course, you will need to enter your Social Security Number. AVSS students who are not U.S. citizens should contact us at security@iavm.org.
 
A copy of your certificates of completion are requested prior to on-site registration. Please send a copy or scan of your certificate to security@iavm.org no later than Friday, February 9, 2018

Spouses/Companions
Due to the educational nature and networking opportunities afforded through this program, spouse/companion attendance is strongly discouraged.
 
Payment
All payments must be submitted in U.S. funds.
 
Attendee Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing. You may send your request via email meetings@iavm.org, fax +1 972.906.7418, or mail IAVM Meeting Registration, 635 Fritz Drive, Suite 100, Coppell, TX, 75019, USA. Cancellation fees are calculated based on the full cost of registration and the date you submit your request, as described below:
• Cancellation request submitted on or before January 24, 2018: $500 fee
• Cancellation request submitted after January 24, 2018: No refund - Full payment is due. 
 
Event Cancellation or Postponement
IAVM reserves the right to cancel or postpone an event due to low participation, severe weather, or any other circumstance which would make the event non-viable. If IAVM cancels an event, registrants are eligible for a full refund. If an event is postponed or rescheduled, registrants have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date. IAVM is not responsible for travel arrangements or any other actual or perceived loss due to cancellation or postponement of an event.
 
Photo Waiver
By attending this event, you grant IAVM the right to photograph you and your property. You also authorize IAVM to copyright, use, and publish said photographs with or without your name for any lawful purpose.
