Oregon Legislative Alert: House Bill 2673
Coppell, TX— The Oregon Legislative Assembly has a bill scheduled
for debate tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4, that will require venue owners
and operators to notify the public in an advertisement about the number
of tickets available to the public for each entertainment event at their
facility. The venue owner or operator is also required to list the price
of tickets in each category that are available for sale and list the
tickets that are not available for sale for each event. There is also a
section for the reseller of event tickets. Non-compliance makes it a
violation of the Oregon unlawful business practice statute. Please read
House Bill 2673 which is
attached to this email message.
The definitions of "venue" and "entertainment event" are very broad.
Venue includes privately or publicly owned facilities and includes
halls, auditoriums, ballrooms, clubs, theaters, stadiums, arenas,
racetracks, museums, parks, amusement parks and other places used for
events. The term "Entertainment event" includes sporting events,
recreation shows, amusement events, theatrical or musical performances,
concerts, films, games and rides.
Please oppose this bill immediately. This proposed legislation is
extremely burdensome on the entire venue and event industry in the State
of Oregon.
The International Association of Assembly Managers is the world's
largest professional association dedicated to issues relevant to the
management of public assembly venues. Members of the association manage
public assembly venues such as amphitheaters, arenas, auditoriums,

university complexes; or provide products, services or attractions to
support the industry. IAAM has more than 3,600 members worldwide. More
