Announces New Positions for Dana Glazier, CAE and Rodney Williams, MBA
Coppell, TX— Dana Glazier, CAE,
a nine year member of the IAAM professional development team, is being
promoted to the newly established position of Director of Research
and Knowledge Management. Since the conclusion of the 2007 strategic
planning, IAAM has embraced tandem strategic themes for Knowledge that
includes Research and Education as two separate but closely intertwined

Subsequently, with the recent formation of the Council for Research and
Knowledge Advancement (RKC) [www.iaam.org],
the emphasis on acquiring “new” knowledge has increased exponentially.
Chair of the RKC Barry Strafacci says, “I applaud IAAM for ensuring
relevancy to its membership by restructuring volunteer and staff
resources to align with the member instigated strategic focus for the
development of new knowledge products that will deliver not only
research for benchmarking and economic impact but new information
products and services to assist venue managers .”
Ms. Glazier earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas
in Arlington. After coming to IAAM in 2001, she earned her Master’s
degree in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University. Her tenure with
IAAM has included library resources, program development, certification,
education, and research. She earned the Certified Association Executive
(CAE) designation in 2008.
Key points identified by the IAAM members in the 2007 strategic planning
initiative that Glazier will be responsible for include:

Identify, collect and disseminate data and knowledge on the venue
management profession and
operations of venues.
•
Produce research reports on the status of the venue management industry
to help guide
management decisions by venue
professionals.
Rodney Williams, formerly Assistant Director of Education, is
being promoted to Director of Education. Mr. Williams has worked
for IAAM on the professional development team for three years in
numerous capacities including oversight of education at specialty
meetings, distance learning and web education. “I’m excited to see
Rodney take on the additional responsibility. He shows great commitment
and dedication to working in teams to deliver member value. ” says
Dana Glazier.
Williams is a graduate of Northwood University in Management, and has a
Master’s from the University of Dallas in Sports and Entertainment
Management. He continues to pursue additional goals in higher education.
Mr. Williams will earn his Doctorate next year in Business
Administration. “As Director of Education, I look forward to developing
and delivering education initiatives that promote personal growth for
our members. To do this effectively, I am committed to IAAM values to
ensure our members receive inclusive, appropriate, challenging, and
informative professional development opportunities” says Mr. Williams.
As Director of Education, Williams will be responsible for professional
education development at all IAAM specialty meetings, schools and
conferences. |
Chair of the Professional Education Council (PEC) Rick Haycock, CFE
states; “I believe IAAM’s realignment will continue to provide
quality professional development programming to enhance the public
assembly venue profession.”

Pursue strategies to increase the proficiency of venue professionals in
the skills necessary for
successful venue management
Both IAAM colleagues assumed their new responsibilities on November 15.
Although these new roles will be uniquely consuming, Ms. Glazier and Mr.
Williams will continue to collaborate cross-functionally as professional
development team members while the Association pursues excellence in the
overall dissemination of venue management knowledge.
