ICCC brings together related industry professionals, venue management and exhibition industry leaders to share views, and allows for discussions on varied topics concerning industry mission, visions and business practices. Doug Ducate, President & CEO for Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), will address the poignant question of whether the industry is shrinking or growing during the Exhibition Industry Report. Selling Venues and Cities Today Michael Hughes, Associate Publisher/Director of Research, Tradeshow Week, will present a current analysis on convention center and CVB marketing best practices. He will provide recommendations focused on: branding cities and venues, sales and marketing benchmarks, venue pricing models and trends, customer service models and benchmarks. The Changing Role of Convention and Visitor Bureaus David O'Neal, Chairman of Conventional Wisdom Corp., will head a panel of industry executives, including Steve Moore, President & CEO, Greater Phoenix CVB; Carol Wallace, President & CEO, San Diego Convention Center Corporation; Kirk Slaughter, Facility & Public Events Director, Ft. Worth Convention Center; and Charlie Johnson, President, C.H. Johnson Consulting. The discussion will cover current innovative practices and future trends, including the new roles of convention & visitors bureaus within their communities. It will also address various CVB models in use, the challenges faced by bureaus, changes in marketing that have been caused by the internet, and the future of CVB services related to convention centers.
