Six Certified Facilities Executives Named at IAAM Annual Conference & Trade Show

Coppell, TX--Six individuals earned the Certified Facilities Executive (CFE) designation from the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) at the IAAM 84th Annual Conference & Trade Show in Boston, MA. Those individuals are:

Johnna Boxley, CFE, General Manager, Spokane Convention Center, Spokane, WA
James “Jim” Brown, II, CFE, Associate Director, Ervin J. Nutter Center Wright State University, Dayton, OH
Lawrence Henley, CFE, Director of Artistic Programming and Production Performing Arts Center University of Nevada at Las Vegas, Las Vegas, NV
Matthew Hollander, CFE, General Manager, Global Spectrum/MassMutual Center, Springfield, MA
Mary Muse, CFE, Executive Director, Adams Center University of Montana, Missoula, MT
Karen Totaro, CFE, Assistant Executive Director, Oregon Convention Center, Portland, OR

Prior to certification, applicants are rated on their experience and accomplishments in public assembly venue management and must successfully complete a comprehensive written examination which tests general knowledge of the public assembly venue management profession.

The 2009 class brings the total number of public assembly venue managers who have earned the CFE designation to over 250 persons. Among venue management professionals, “CFE” is an indication of demonstrated skill in leadership, activity in community affairs and expertise in management of public assembly venues.


The International Association of Assembly Managers is the world's largest professional association dedicated to issues relevant to the management of public assembly venues. Members of the association manage public assembly venues such as amphitheaters, arenas, auditoriums, convention centers/exhibit halls, performing arts venues, stadiums and university complexes; or provide products, services or attractions to support the industry.
