Managing the Event in a High Security Environment: "The Politics of Politics"
Learn from the experiences of those that have been there to plan and coordinate your venues operation from Guest Services to Crowd Control, when everyone else is in charge!
This session will be conducted in a work session format and requires full participation. Observers or joining in the middle will not be allowed. Pre-register to assure your opportunity to fully participate. Small work groups will address protocols and procedures for numerous topics critical to high security events, to include credentialing, protesters, contracting, law enforcement coordination, code enforcement, staff and security plans, the spin, and risk management. The situation is designed to apply to all types and sizes of venues. It is all about being prepared and being able to create a unified plan with all the competing expectations and authorities "being in charge". Experts and experienced managers will facilitate each work group develop a plan and protocol for the issue assigned.
Each work group's plans will be applied to the situation and coordinated between the numerous issues addressed. The outcome for participants is a work sheet of considerations that can be applied when they are called upon to manage an event in a high security environment.

Workshop D: ADA Update: The Time is Now, Plus New Technologies
Join us for a frank and informative overview of the revisions to the ADA Regulations published Sept. 15, 2010. This is the first major revision in nineteen years and will affect all Venues to some degree. The compliance date for the new ADA Standards was March 15, 2012; as of that date, the 2010 Standard must be followed for all new construction, renovations and program access. This session covers ticket sales, prices, seat locations, companion seating, online purchasing and the secondary market. This session also discusses new and emerging technologies available for patrons with disabilities and will conclude with a question and answer session.
